ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK OIL QUALITY

(a) Check the oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning.

If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil and filter 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL AND OIL FILTER: REPLACEMENT (2008 Sequoia) .

2. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL

(a) Warm up the engine, and then stop the engine and wait for 5 minutes.

(b) Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks on the dipstick.

If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.

NOTICE:

Do not fill engine oil above the full level mark.

3. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE

(a) Remove the oil pressure sender gauge 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PRESSURE SWITCH: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .


(b) Install an oil pressure gauge.

(c) Warm up the engine.

(d) Inspect the oil pressure.

Standard Oil Pressure:

Condition

Specified Condition

Idle

70 kPa (0.7 kgf/cm2, 10.1 psi) or more

2500 rpm

220 kPa (2.2 kgf/cm2, 32 psi) or more

If the pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: INSPECTION (2008 Sequoia) .

(e) Remove the oil pressure gauge.

(f) Install the oil pressure sender gauge 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PRESSURE SWITCH: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia) .
